Privacy Policy

RoomSpec is run by G6 Homes, LLC (“RoomSpec”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use roomspec.app, how we use it, and who can see it. It is written in plain language on purpose. If anything is unclear, email info@g6homes.net.

Two kinds of people use RoomSpec

Account holders are construction companies and their team members. They sign in, create projects, upload plans and photos, and pay for a subscription.

Visitors are the people on a job site who scan a QR code or open a room or project link. They never create an account, and we ask them for nothing. Most of this policy is about account holders.

What we collect

Account and team information

• Your name, email address and sign-in details, handled by our authentication provider, Clerk. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email and profile picture with us.
• Your company name and the members you add to it.

Content you upload

• Floor plans and drawing sets, and the images we render from them.
• Room names, positions on the plan, specifications and notes.
• Documents, spec sheets and photos you attach to rooms, including pre-drywall photos.
• Project names and, if you enter one, the project address.

Billing

• Payments are handled by Stripe. Your card number never touches RoomSpec. We keep your Stripe customer reference, your plan and your subscription status.

Technical information

• Standard server logs: IP address, browser type, the pages requested and when. This applies to visitors as well as account holders. We do not run advertising trackers.
• Storage used by your company, so we can enforce plan limits.

How we use it

• To run the service: store your projects, generate QR codes and show room pages.
• To detect rooms on your plans. When you scan a drawing set, images of the plan sheets are sent to Anthropic's Claude API, which reads them and returns the room names and positions. Anthropic processes those images to provide that result and, under its API terms, does not use them to train its models.
• To bill you and send receipts, through Stripe.
• To send account email, such as sign-in codes and billing notices.
• To keep the service secure and to diagnose problems.

We do not sell your information and we do not share it with advertisers.

Who can see what you upload

This is the part worth reading twice. Every room and every project has a public page, reached by scanning its QR code or opening its link. Anyone with that link can view the page without signing in. That is the point of the product: the electrician on site should not need an account to see the spec.

• Links use long random codes that are not listed anywhere public and cannot be guessed. They work like a share link, and like a share link they can be passed on.
• A room page shows the room's name, specifications, attached documents and photos, and links to every other room in the same project.
• You decide what goes on those pages. Do not upload anything you would not want a visitor on site to see.
• Deleting a room, a file or a project removes it from the public pages. Archiving a project does not currently remove its public pages.

Where your data lives

We use a small number of providers to run RoomSpec. Each only receives what it needs.

• Vercel hosts the application.
• Supabase hosts the database (United States).
• Cloudflare R2 stores uploaded files in a private bucket. Files are served through links that expire after fifteen minutes.
• Clerk handles sign-in and team membership.
• Stripe handles payments.
• Anthropic provides the AI that reads floor plans.
• Resend delivers account email.

How long we keep it

• Your content stays as long as your account is active. When you delete a room, file or project, the stored files are removed as well.
• Printed QR codes point at room pages for as long as the room exists, including on coverplates that may stay in a house for decades. That is by design.
• If you close your account, email info@g6homes.net and we will delete your company's data. Server logs are kept for a limited time and then discarded.

Security

Uploaded files sit in a private bucket and are never served from a public address. Connections are encrypted in transit. Your team's data is scoped to your company at every query. No system is perfectly secure, and the public pages are only as private as the links to them, so treat those links with care.

Your choices and rights

• You can view, change and delete your content from the app at any time.
• You can change your name, email and password through your account settings.
• You can ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, at info@g6homes.net. Residents of some places, including California, have specific rights under local law; we honor those requests for everyone.

Children

RoomSpec is a business tool and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, for account holders, send an email. Continuing to use RoomSpec after that means you accept the updated policy.
